Getting started: ORGANIZATION

So before I tell you how to find all those coupons and how to use them, the first thing you need to do is figure out what method of organization works best for you. So I will break it down into the three most basic orgnaization methods and you can decide what route you'd like to go and if you have any questions you can contact me at Brighteyes2581@gmail.com

There are three different methods of organization. You have to choose which one fits you best. Include factors like time, family, comfort with carrying or not carrying a binder, and ease of access to your coupons at any given time.

The first method is the binder method: pretty self explainatory. You keep all of your coupons clipped and filed in the binder. Using baseball card holders (found at walmart, target, hobby stores) to orgaize and kep your coupons. There are also many websites that offer pre-made coupon kits, but honestly it's much cheaper to do it yourself and you can customize it to fit your needs.

The second method is the clipless method: you don't clip inserts until you need the coupons. You type out and attach a list of all coupons included in that insert and the date and go back as nessisary. If you follow a blog :) religously this could be the way to go as they often list what insert the coupon can be found in and it would be easy to go back and fnd it to pair with the sale.

The third method is the hybrid: A mixture of both the binder and clipless methods. You clip what you KNOW you will use and file the rest as stated avbove for future access. This is the method I use and I can tell you it's so much easier, less time consuming and now my binder weighs alot less than when I was clipping everything :) The only thing I don't like about this is say your at the store and you see a good sale, somthing unadvertised, and you KNOW you have a coupon for it sitting at home. You now have two choices: You either pass on the sale, or you go home and get the coupons :) For me this is frustrating because I'm a bit of an impulse shopper. I change my list on the fly sometimes, especially if I find something on clearance.

Three things you need to ask yourself whe clipping inserts are:
  1. Will I use this coupon FOR SURE?
  2. Would I try this product if I could get it FREE or really cheap?
  3. Is this a product I could reasonably donate if I got it free or super cheap?
These simple tips are the best to follow in trying to figure out what works best for you!
